Joanna is a UBC alum with over ten years experience as an educator focused on inspiring lifelong learning through personal and professional development. She has worked and volunteered in a variety of educational settings, ranging from developing a culturally relevant literacy program in Australia’s Northern Territory to teaching in secondary schools in the Yukon Territory and inner-city Toronto.
During the summer of 2009, Joanna travelled to Nairobi, Kenya with the Sauder School of Business, wherein she collaborated with UBC faculty and students to develop and deliver business development studies with Kenyan youth. Joanna has also worked with First Nations communities in British Columbia identifying and researching opportunities to achieve financial sustainability through community capacity building.
Joanna is excited to join the eHealth Strategy Team, bringing together her professional experience in developing education programs along with a personal interest in improving population health and well-being. In her spare time you will find her on the slopes in the winter or running the seawall in the rain.
